Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
